About the Daily Nutrition Calculator

This tool helps you log the foods you eat across a day and track your running totals against a calorie goal. Add each food as you go, set your daily target, and watch the progress bar fill as calories, protein, carbs and fat add up. The food data comes from a large database built on official USDA records plus packaged and branded food data, so your daily totals are based on measured nutrition.

Awareness is what changes habits, and a daily total is where awareness becomes concrete. Seeing how individual foods push you toward or past your goal, in real time, is far more motivating than stepping on a scale once a week and wondering what happened.

How to use it

Set your daily calorie goal using the presets or your own number. Then search for each food you eat, choose the serving, and add it. The running totals update immediately, and the goal bar shows how much of your daily allowance you have used. Your list stays in your browser as you go, so you can keep adding through the day.

Setting a sensible goal

If you are not sure what target to use, a maintenance calorie estimate is a good starting point, and a moderate deficit of around 500 calories below that supports steady weight loss. Protein is worth watching too, since hitting enough of it helps with fullness and preserving muscle. Use the totals to guide your choices rather than to chase perfection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Set a daily calorie goal, then add each food you eat with its serving size. The calculator keeps a running total and shows a progress bar against your goal, so you can see how much of your daily allowance is left at any point.

Yes. The items you add are stored privately in your own browser, so they stay as you move through the day on the same device. There is no account and nothing is uploaded, it is all kept locally for your convenience.

A good starting point is your maintenance calorie estimate, which you can find with a TDEE calculator. For steady weight loss, a moderate deficit of around 500 calories below maintenance is sensible. Adjust based on your results over a couple of weeks.

Yes. Alongside total calories, the tool tracks protein, carbs and fat for the day, plus extras like fiber, sugar and sodium, so you can keep an eye on more than just energy intake.
